Our Plants have Started to Grow!

This morning the children were so excited to discover that their plants had started to sprout! During science the students recorded some observations of their plants. We can't wait to see how tall they will be Monday morning!

Plants

What is the life cycle of a plant?

On September 10th each student planted Brassica seeds. This will allow us to observe the stages of plant growth right in our classroom. The children were very excited to plant! Check back soon, as we will post a picture when our plants start to grow. (This may happen within the next few days!)

Observing the plants in our classroom will help us achieve the science standard of: Identifying the structures in plants (leaves, roots, lowers, stem, bark, wood) that are responsible for food production, support, water transport, reproduction, growth, and protection.

We’ve had a successful start to the school year! During the first week, we made a list of class rules and have been busy learning classroom routines. I’ve enjoyed getting to know each of the children and am looking forward to a great year!

Parent Seminar
Parent Seminar for third grade parents will be held on Tuesday, September 16th from 6:00-6:45. At this time, I will share information about our classroom, third grade and the curriculum that will be taught this year. I look forward to meeting each of you and hope that you will be able to attend.
