MCAS

The third grade will be taking the English Language Arts portion of the MCAS test this week.  The students have completed practice tests in order to prepare for MCAS. We have completed some tests as a class to review strategies, and others individually. I have emphasized that the children should take their time and look back to check answers.  My goals are for the children to be comfortable with the test format and reduce anxiety, in order to help them do their best.

All sessions will begin promptly at 9:15. Please make sure that your child arrives on time for school.  You can help your child do their best by making sure they’re well rested and have eaten a good breakfast each morning. The children may bring in two healthy snacks each day. We will have time for snack before and after the test.

Due to MCAS testing, homework has been reduced this week. Students should complete the required15 minutes of reading each night, but are encouraged to do more if they are interested.

The MCAS schedule is as follows:

March 18    Session 1
March 19    Session 2
March 20    Make-up tests begin if necessary

Thank you for your continued support!
