Multiplication

The children have been working hard to learn their multiplication tables. We have been playing math games, hopping on a number line, drawing arrays,  practicing with flash cards and demonstrating understanding by building facts with tiles. All of our hard work is paying off! I've notice everyone is getting quicker with their facts! I encourage the children to practice a few minutes every day.

Here are some great websites for practicing multiplication facts-

Everyone took a turn hopping  on the number line. For example 3 x 2,  was shown by  3 hops of 2.

The students played Multiplication Roll'em  during WIN time.

Standards addressed
3.OA.c.7.    Fluently multiply and divide within 100, using strategies such as the relationship between multiplication and division (e.g., knowing that 8 × 5 = 40, one knows 40 ÷ 5 = 8) or properties of operations. By the end of Grade 3, know from memory all products of two one-digit numbers.
